Based on a survey of faculty affiliates of AGI’s member centers, this series of programs throughout AY 2023-24 will help Faculty Collaborative Research Teams go through the steps to 1) conceive, plan, write grant proposals 2) identify appropriate funding agencies and engage with program officers throughout development of grant proposals, and 3) submit major grant proposals for extramural funding within the next 18 months.

Ladder faculty members of all ranks from all AGI member centers are eligible to participate in the October 6th Pre-proposal retreat. Faculty Research Teams interested in continuing to participate in the Collaborative Retreat Series will be required to apply (see details below).  Each proposing team must include at least one HASSE faculty member affiliated with an AGI center and at least one additional collaborator. The additional collaborator(s) may be from any academic department at UCSB and/or from external institutions, including from STEM disciplines and departments. We encourage participation from faculty research teams whose projects have an interdisciplinary, trans-regional dimension that make meaningful contributions to area and/or global studies.
