The Letters of Fernando Túpac Amaru and Other Documents, 1782-1798 (Lima, Isole, 2024) compiles the previously unpublished letters of Fernando Túpac Amaru, the youngest son of famed Cuzco rebel leaders José Gabriel Túpac Amaru and Micaela Bastidas, who was banished to Spain as young child following the public torture and execution of his parents in 1781. It brings together letters and other previously unpublished materials that shed light on his short and tragic life.

Prof. Cecilia Méndez, a historian specializing in Peru, authored the book’s introduction. Viola Varotto, its co-editor, co-founded and directs the Peruvian publisher Isole. Jairo Melo Flórez is a specialist of the politico-juridical institutions of the Spanish monarchy in the 18th century.
