The language of Daoist Internal Alchemy (Neidan) is vast, intricate, and multifaceted, and often presents a significant challenge for those studying this tradition. In this talk, Fabrizio Pregadio will present examples of various methods used to decode and systematize it. In its conclusion, the presentation will consider how Neidan authors motivated and conceptualized their use of images, emblems, and symbols.
