This panel will explore the most pressing mental health challenges faced by Latinx/e immigrants in California and highlight effective trauma-informed strategies to expand access and enhance support. Sharon Burnett & Dina Olivas, experts from the Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center (VCWC), will discuss the role of community-based services, school programs, and professional training in delivering culturally responsive mental health care. They will also examine how nonprofit organizations bridge service gaps, empower individuals and families, and prepare future mental health providers to meet the unique needs of immigrant communities.
