This talk by Elena Cardona (Soka University) will be in Spanish.

Since the beginning of the century, Venezuela has undergone a series of notable transformations in its political, social, and economic landscape, largely influenced by the mandates of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro. Within this context, the politics of the image and the images of the political have been shaped by the struggle for power and the search for legitimacy and dominance in the public sphere. This talk aims to examine the works of key artists in order to outline a cartography of this dispute within Venezuelan artistic creation of the 21st century.
