Come learn about the collective efforts of teachers, from across the K-12 spectrum and in various disciplines, Central American faculty from various institutions, community activists, and artists who created a curriculum project that supports the needs of Central American students, K-12 educators supporting these students, and Ethnic Studies efforts in California.
Cindy Mata (She/Ella) is a proud Guanaca (Salvadoran), who was born in El Salvador and moved to the US as a young child. She is a former high school and middle school history teacher and is currently the director of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) History Project. A particular area of focus of her academic pursuits focuses on how to best infuse Central American Studies in K-12 classrooms.
